Lighting Sciences Inc. tests both whole luminaires and individual lamps on a wide range of photometric equipment that allows for full design and testing services, in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements.
Our testing facilities include:
Moving-mirror Goniophotometers – Used to characterize the light distribution and efficiencies of lighting products
Automotive/Aviation Goniometer – Used for automotive devices, traffic signals, reflex reflectors, aviation lighting and many other applications
Spectrophotometers – Used for spectral color analysis, measuring color rendering index, CIE chromaticity, and color temperatures
Telephotometric Luminance Meters – Used for precision spot measurements of photometric brightness
Integrating Spheres – Used to determine total lumen output of lamps, and mean spherical candlepower
Night Trespass Meters – Combine telescopic photometer and laser rangefinder to allow direct measurement of eye illuminance and distance, and to compute luminaire intensity
Electrical Test Systems – Used for measuring electrical parameters under both start-up and operating conditions
Lamp Life Testing Systems – Automated testing station records and reports burning hours according to standardized procedures for a variety of lamp types
Lamp Base Torque Tester – Tests the strength of the base’s adhesion to the lamp
CCD Camera-based Digital Photometry – AutoVidi screen photometer system captures photometric readings digitally for almost instantaneous test results
Retro-reflection Test System – Automated production-line quality control system
Lamp Photometric System – Used for photometric evaluation of lamps at close distances
Integrated Diagnostic Computer Systems - A vast array of hardware and software for performing optical design, application layouts, testing and report generation, and illumination research
